Taste of Randolph

June 21, 2016

#SummertimeChi is a magical time of year when the sweet sun shines down on the Windy City. The the whole city transforms as we pull off our parkers and bust out rompers, crop tops and sandals. Caitlin and Danielle cherish Chicago’s warm summer days and nights about town. The Dolls spent this past weekend at an iconic street fest in the West Loop, Taste of Randolph.

Taste of Randolph

Chicago offers a large variety of outdoor summer activities – you’ll find everything from baseball games, boat tours, workouts in the park, music and movies and of course street festivals – one of the best ways to explore Chicago. Each neighborhood is so different, and that translates to the vibe of each fest. These fests may be centered around art, while others focus on music and some are all about food.

Taste of Randolph took place this past weekend and it quickly became the Dolls’ favorites… Why? Not only do we think that West Loop is the Best Loop … But CC and Dani saw all the elements needed for the perfect street festival. SPECTACULAR FOOD, WONDERFUL LIVE MUSIC and TALENTED LOCAL VENDORS. Star Events and Silver Wrapper really know how to throw a fun party.

Chicago felt a similar sentiment about the fest as the Dolls… It was just as packed during the day as it was during the night.

Randolph Street Fest Night

Street fests are a great opportunity to find new music to fall in love with. There are plenty of up-and-coming artists and big names that perform at events like this. Listen to the sound that draws you near and dance, dance, dance.

more_day_stageC & D indulged in a few Corona Lights and thoroughly enjoyed a sandwich from Chicken Shop  – The dolls will be returning to the regular restaurant for more, if there is something Caitlin and Danielle enjoy as much as fashion, it’s the other f… Food, Good Food! (insert Chicken shop photo and Cait eating).

Caitlin and Danielle ended our stay at Taste of Randolph jammin’ out to MS MR, an all time favorite of the Dolls. Summer is here and it was inspiring to see so many Chicagoans loving life together. Although, there was lots of food, drink and vendors to go around, this evening was fueled by laughter, dancing and love.

Awesome! I really wanted to go to this but of course had to wait for my couch to be delivered and it took ALL DAY. Boo. It was the perfect weekend too. I need to find more outdoor festivals to go to this summer in Chicago. I just moved here a few weeks ago.

Now that I’m in the suburbs, I haven’t been to Taste of Randolph in a few years. So fun! Thanks for sharing your recap!

As a native Chicagoan from the South Side but having left Chicago for over 18yrs, it’s very interesting to see my hometown through the perspective of other people. One thing I can agree on that there is nothing quite like “summer time in Chicago”. #SummertimeChi is quite the appropriate hashtag. Enjoy.

About

Once upon a time... there were two best friends that lived in a Dollhouse. That's where the story began. While the pages of this digital storybook keep turning, one thing remains the same. Caitlin and Dani are by each other's side through the ups, downs and all the realness in between.
