Most of us have heard the phrases, “Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes” or “put yourself in someone else’s shoes.” But have you ever thought about what it would be like to not have any shoes? Read on to find out about Kicks4theCity – a charity who knows what it means not to have any shoes and the inside scoop on their latest philanthropic event.
Kicks 4 The City is a phenomenal organization that will flip your perspective on the homeless population, the underprivileged youth, and is doing something special to help those in need across the country. The Charity’s mission is to bring awareness to these struggles and provide shoes for those in need during the holidays or back-to-school times. Kicks 4 the City has not only “touched the feet” of many in Chicago but also in Atlanta, Charlotte, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, St. Louis and Washington D.C. Last year, the organization collected and distributed over 14,000 pairs of shoes and is hoping for more this year.
Kicks 4 The City creates a platform for others to help give back in various ways such as donating, volunteering or becoming an official K4tC Ambassador. Find out how you can get involved!
Local artist, P. Scott ,created an original piece of artwork at the event as part of the raffle.
The Charity just held their annual Gala, the Agora Charitable Sneaker Ball. The Dolls had never been to a sneaker ball and were so impressed with all the fresh kicks mixed with formal wear. Danielle and Caitlin could get comfortable wearing sneakers with dresses for more nights out on the town.
Say Hello to Nikki Roberson, the Dolls lovingly refer to this gem as their Gangsta Goddess. She is an ambassador for Kicks 4 The City and we are so proud of all the donations she worked to receive for the auction portion of the Agora Sneaker Ball. Donations for the auction are always being accepted, the Dolls can get you in contact with Nikki!
The organization is starting holiday donations on November 1st. If you’re in Chicago and want to make a donation, check out the website to find out how! http://www.kicks4thecity.org/
