The life of a digital media Doll comes with the responsibility to investigate beauty treatments and ways to invest in yourself. At a certain point, Dolls everywhere hear whisperings “injections” and “fillers”. It’s something that a lot of women have questions about. The curiosity is there, but there are few examples of young women sharing real-life stories and results. As natural born and accredited journalists, Caitlin and Danielle decided it was time to investigate.
Always remember that you are in control of the vibrancy you share with the world. As we journey through life in grace and practice self-care, there is an opportunity to grow with every opportunity and major life event.
Do something today that your future self will thank you for.”
We quickly realized that neither of us harbor a fear of aging or a fear of preventing aging. We’re here to live in the moment and share the journey. This experience is not about going back in time – it’s about preventative aging and living our best lives.
You know that we love the connections game… Here’s how we got to meet and work with the magical physician assistant who makes aging graceful for every woman and man she works with. During a visit to our favorite Chicago hair spot, Salon 833, we began to chat with the owner, Lisa, about every way a woman looks and feels her best. Soon enough, Lisa connected us to Maggie Romano.
Maggie Romano, PA-C (@the_pa_mag) is an Injection Specialist at Lincoln Park Aesthetics. Maggie has a Masters of Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in Downers Grove. Education is very important to us – Maggie has the beauty and the brains! Her practice, LPA is conveniently located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago. We felt an instant connection with Maggie during our complimentary consultation. Her energy is warm and embracing; she really has your best interest at face, ehhhh heart. Maggie taught the dolls many things about their faces but our favorite part was that freezing their faces is not her goal but retraining facial muscles and improving facial posture is the end game. When you inject the muscle and it relaxes you become conscious about the faces you are making and how it will impact your face long term.
You can be gorgeous at thirty, charming at forty and irresistible for the rest of your life” – Coco Chanel
What are preventative treatments?
Imagine having skin that’s as smooth, luminous, and wrinkle-free in 20 years as it is now. Investing in yourself today will pay off in the long run. Preventive products like sunscreen and a physician-strength skin care line will to help minimize the harmful effects of UV rays and environmental effects.
So, how do you prevent wrinkles in the first place? If you can limit the movements and harmful effects that eventually cause wrinkles, you might not get them in the first place. Preventative injections are a relatively new development geared towards guys and Dolls in their 20s and 30s. Make sense?
“The best wrinkle is the one you never get.”
The Services:
What’s the gold wand in the video? It’s a vibrating pain blocker. Pain and vibration travel through similar pathways to the brain and vibrations usually get there first. As a result, pain is blocked from the injections and it really works!
Maggie treated us cautiously and modestly on forehead areas and around the eyes with Dysport instead of Botox, Dysport is another form of Botulinum Toxin A, similar to Botox and most popular in Europe and Brazil. Dysport is known to give the face a more natural look, improving the fine lines without giving the frozen appearance. While we learned we can’t stop the aging process, we can use Dysport to create a slower and more even aging cycle for fine lines and wrinkles.
Most of Maggie’s patients follow her on instagram, and in doing so, they receive 10% off, all of the pricing will reflect this discount. There is a $150 minimum for any injection treatment. Most patients sign up for Aspire Rewards or Brilliant Distinctions (for Botox and Juvederm products) and receive at least a $20 discount at each of their visits as well.
Caitlin: Total: $1,537

Lips: Restylane Refyne ($800, $720 after 10% off) + (anesthetic cream was used to numb lips)

upper Forehead: 15 units

Crow’s feet: 18 units

Recommended upkeep: Every 3 – 4 months. Stay tuned for our wedding prep beauty guide that have every bride feeling radiant on the big day!
Both Caitlin and Danielle are very happy with their decisions to experience injections, we feel like this process has also impacted our happiness for the better, we make a decision not to get mad and react to situations because it isn’t worth the permanent wrinkles and fine lines those upset looks give us. We understand that everyone is different however our pain during the treatment was minimal and our recovery time was speedy fast. Dani Doll went into it amped up to feel a lot more pain then the reality of the situation was, it was more bearable then a regular dentist check-up.

wow. I love how informative this post was. I am 22 and have not even thought about this kind of thing. but it makes sense to prevent them before they happen! You said guys and dolls in their 20s and 30s get this done.. am I still too young? just stick to sunscreen? or do you think I should start doing more thinking on this topic?

I haven’t tried these before. I’d like to one day. I have wrinkles that I would love to smooth out, but the price usually stops me from doing anything!

I’ve never heard of this type of treatment before. It’s great that y’all researched everything first. Is the treatment only beneficial if you can keep up with repeating it every three to four months?
