Chronicles of a Cleanse

January 22, 2016

Everyone has a different opinion about the healthiest ways to nourish your body. At the Dollhouse, we challenge ourselves to become the best dolls we can be. A healthy seasonal cleanse helps rid your body of any toxins and can even serve as a spiritual experience.

Our bodies are the best science projects we have.”

We decided to try the Clean, Burn, Shape full body detox on day one of this 2016 New Year. So we did… These dolls fell in LOVE and have to share our cleanse chronicles with you!

The magical product, Orenda came to our attention in the Fall of 2015. Yes, these dolls admit to a touch of skepticism to start, but as always promised to keep an open mind. Users claimed it cured immune deficiency disorders, shrank ovarian cysts, balanced hormones, cleared acne, and cleansed their bodies at a cellular level.  Some friends even lost over 10-pounds on the product and didn’t put the weight back on.

The Detox comes in 10 and 30-day cycles. As Cait and Dani typically would, they took what was presented to them and made it their own.  The 10-day cleanse didn’t seem like enough but the 30-day was a little too much so they created a 15-day cleanse, following the guidelines.

Cleanse Guidelines: It’s basically the paleo diet with the Orenda vegan supplements.  On the menu: fruits, veggies and lean proteins (eggs, chicken, turkey and certain fish) – You have to drink half your body weight in ounces of water everyday. No dairy or grains for 15-days.

We still found ways to incorporate delicious meals into our diet – We love a beautiful salad and our dear Spiralizer had us enjoying veggie noodles.

It’s recommended you do 30-minutes a day of cardio but we didn’t really start that until after day 5. You know you’re doing a cleanse right if it brings a lot to the surface physically, mentally and emotionally. You need to get through those first 5 days before shaking things up even more.

The first five days are a fantastic time to incorporate yoga, body scrubs, massages and things you find helpful while cleansing yourself of energy and thoughts that no longer serve a purpose.

Cleanse Schedule:

Burn Days:

  • Morning – 1 burn capsule
  • Afternoon – 1 burn capsule & shape shake
  • Evening- 1 burn capsule

Cleanse Days:

  • Morning- 1 burn capsule & 2 clean sticks
  • Afternoon- 1 burn capsule 2 clean sticks
  • Evening – 1 burn capsule & 2 cleanse sticks

READY, SET, GO!

Day 1 (burn day): First day of the New Year and off to a great start. We’re both feeling ambitious and ready to go!!  Took a steam and scrubbed with lavender salt scrub from Trader Joes.  This is hands down our fave scrub in the dollhouse – the Epson salts help the skin release toxins and the lavender oil helps soothe. Leaving us feeling fresh, detoxed and very soft and smooth, the way dolls should feel! Well, back to the cleanse … Day one went well, tons of energy and zero cravings for naughty foods.

Day 2 (cleanse day): Smooth sailing, probably still digesting NYE dinner aka our Last Supper.

Day 3 (burn day): Did a steam with scrub and went to a yoga class. We’re already missing quinoa, rice and pho. Any type of head fog that was lingering started to clear, but different emotions and past experiences that weren’t fully healed from started to arise.

Day 4 (burn day): Hardest Day 1: Called in sick to work, laid in bed most of the day sorting things out. Looked up ketosis (detoxification process from carbs).

Day 5 (burn day): Hardest Day 2: Worked from home, left my bed and sat in different places in my apartment. Cried a few times which helped with the cleanse and release process. Enjoyed warm tea from bed.

Day 6 (burn day): Woke up feeling great after a 2-day purge of emotions. Started adding workouts. A little extra sweat helps a lot.

Day 7 (burn day): Around this time, we totally stopped really having any cravings or missing carbs. Victory!

Day 8 (cleanse day): Spent a lot of time in the bathroom on this day, I guess purging in a different way than crying. Stayed extra hydrated!

Day 9 (burn day): Started to notice some shape and definition in my inner thighs, arms and stomach.

Day 10 (burn day): Did morning yoga, Danielle cheated with Vietnamese Pho noodle soup.

Day 11 (burn day): Can see the finish line, feeling good despite the rice noodles over the weekend.

Day 12 (burn day): Noticed my skin looking clear, eyes seemed very bright and the cheekbones were also more noticeable.

Day 13 (burn day): Feeling GREAT, took a scan of my body to see how I’m feeling and allowed myself to get any emotions that were left over out. Had nothing else to release.

Day 14 (burn day): Started the day with yoga, followed by a massage and a steam shower. Feeling very proud to have done the cleanse with minimal slip-ups, so I can feel the full effects.

Day 15 (cleanse day): Completed the cleanse and ready to start re-incorporating grain in our life, besides an occasional ice cream here and there we decided to keep dairy out of our regular life.

Day 16 (done): Be careful with any celebratory drinks! 15 days without alcohol makes a difference 🙂

Here is the before and after. What do you think? Would you try Orenda? Tell us in the comments below.

Can’t say I’m interested in this type of “bathroom cleanse,” but I am pleased with the results of my own cleanse that doesn’t require staying near to the throne! (and I get to eat quinoa too).

Girl! This is INSANELY cool! You did a, for real for real cleanse. I am so impressed! The trader joes lavender scrub and all (my favorite). I need to get the courage to do it like you did, because you look incredible…your skin!

It’s really cool to see how our body reacts to stuff, ya know? I love it.

So glad to have found your blog!

The food diet is very similar to my cancer diet, which is great to get your body going beautifully.
I don’t know about the cleanse, I don’t think I would be willing to cry and be on the toilet more than I already do, hehehehe.

First of all, I love your blog. Second of all, this cleanse looks awesome! I think we might do it too 🙂
