At the Dollhouse, the secret ingredient to any delicious recipe is a dash of sparkle. The Dolls adore Home Chef, because this local meal delivery service makes it easy to make cooking fun with plenty of time to get dancing in the kitchen. Cue 90’s hit playlist on Spotify. This bibimbop recipe is so much more than a one-hit-wonder.
We love spending time together in the kitchen – whether we are cooking up some delicious pizza or a scrumptious healthy meal. One reason we choose Home Chef is all the great food options. They have something for everyone! This time, we chose a gluten-free, vegetarian dish – Teriyaki Veggie Bibimbap with bok choy, cremini mushrooms and jasmine rice.
Bibimbap is a Korean dish with a long history and an even longer legacy of great flavors. We pile those flavors on with our vegetable bibimbap. Mushrooms and bok choy stems are cooked in spicy, pepper-y gochujang and sweet teriyaki; cucumbers and peppers are tossed in a peppy dressing.
Fun Fact: Did you know that this dish was not always called bibimbap? Before the 20th century, it was called goldongban. It was served on the eve of the lunar new year, mixing all the house’s leftovers in a bowl to eat before the new year began.
Home Chef is a meal delivery service that features easy recipes and fresh ingredients. There are 13 recipes to choose from each week, including great low-carb, low-calorie and gluten-free options. Our favorite part about Home Chef‘s meals are the fresh, thoughtfully sourced ingredients.
