Caitlin and Danielle teamed up with A Girl’s Guide to Cars to empower women to be smarter, happier car owners. After all, 85% of cars sold are either made or influenced by women and females are accelerating their role in the auto industry. The Dolls attended this year’s annual What Drives Her Luncheon at The Chicago Auto Show to connect with some influential women and hear their #GirlBoss stories.
We had the chance to listen to a panel of inspirational women in the auto industry at the luncheon. These powerful Dolls are taking on task after task, increased responsibility and more projects to work their way up the ranks. One of the panelists even surmised that women is in high positions in a male dominated industry are encouraging the rest of the employees to level up and work at a higher level.
Not surprisingly, we also discussed work-life balance… Who can relate?! Most Dolls work around a busy schedule – and maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life is SO important.
They speak of how the auto industry cares what women think about car design and features since they recognize our impact on the industry. The fact of the matter is even though the auto-industry was known as a “man’s world” – these strong and beautiful Dolls are now running the show. Being in the industry takes a lot of tenacity and all women have that!
The Chicago Auto-Show at McCormick Place in Chicago is a great opportunity to explore, learn and discuss everything automotive. What was most interesting is that all women on the panel did not plan to go into the automotive industry, their careers went in that direction and for the most part many started off as the only woman in the WHOLE company!
If there’s one thing we’ve learned in this life – it’s to trust the journey. Some of the Dolls in the auto industry prove just that. For the most part they never dreamed of entering the industry, and now some of them are VP’s of important departments such as the engineering, quality, marketing, human resources, and technology departments. 
These strong women inspired everyone to follow your dream, whatever path it may lead you to and never stop self-improving. Check out the amazing cars and, network, and talk with other Dolls at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show!
