A little bit rocker with a lot of style best describes the Dolls’ designer friend from Eda & Betty. The #QuarantineCouture and punk athleisure clothing pieces are taking Chicago-area boutiques by storm. Caitlin and Dani sat down with Nicole Massarelli to chat about her unique aesthetic and how the brand is thriving during the Covid pandemic. You can listen to the whole convo on the latest Doll Talk Podcast.
Here’s the thing – we both embrace special pieces that have been handed down from out grandmothers. Whether it’s a vintage Gucci handbag, a piece of furniture or a precious piece of jewelry, the heirlooms we possess make us feel connected to the inspirational women we love. Can anyone relate?
When we found out the namesake behind Niki’s line, we were touched. She gets it! Eda & Betty was named after Niki’s grandmothers. What started as one unique piece of jewelry – incorporating her grandmother’s Cameo necklace into a rocker chic vibe, caught the eyes of her future customers. The fashion world was calling for Niki and she happily answered. She soon found her way to NYC – making custom pieces for celebrities like Paris Hilton and growing her cult following.

One of the most exciting things about Niki is how FUN she is. You can tell by the clothing she creates. They make you feel happy in a time that filled with a lot of anxiety for so many people. That’s gotta be the reason her biz is thriving during quarantine. Around 11pm every night she would watch the sales come in. She worked with SO many local boutiques to get on Social Media and sell her wares (inside joke- you’ll know if you listen to the POD).
Niki custom creates one-of-a-kind & limited edition accessories and apparel using high quality vintage recycled components mixed with new findings to create a truly unique fashion statement.
