Spring is here! This is a favorite seasons for the Dolls. Spring is full of new opportunities, sunshine, and of course flowers. How fitting that Plant Something Day (May 19) falls during this magical time! Caitlin and Danielle celebrated Plant Something Day with Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day by getting their hands dirty at a community garden in Chicago.
Plant Something Day is a great opportunity to get out there and beautify your surroundings. If you know us – you know that we’re all about making things beautiful! The Plant Something Day event took place at the Global Garden Refugee Training Farm in Albany Park. This farm is one of the largest community gardens in the city and has plots for more than 100 refugee families who grow food for their own families as well as the community.
The mission of Global Gardens Refugee Training Farm is to improve access to fresh vegetables for newly arrived refugee families and their urban neighbors; feed the souls of displaced farmers through reconnection with the soil and food production; provide supplemental income for participating refugee farmers; and foster new, refugee-operated farms.
These pretty purple plants above are chives. Who knew an onion could be so pretty? You can actually bite the flower off!
Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day was on-site at the Global Gardens Refugee farm to kick off the event and help everyone clean up. How a-doll-able are these hand washing stations?
Have you heard of Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day? Their fragrances smell as fresh as your garden – seriously! We love that they are environmentally-friendly too. Just check the label on their products. Every ingredient is clearly listed.
The Dolls favorite fragrance is Lavender – cherished for its relaxing scent that is both soothing and tranquilizing. Its natural cleaning power helps rid homes of dirt and grime while adding a burst of fresh fragrance. Lavender’s aromatherapeutic ability to relieve fatigue is an added bonus.
Mrs. Meyers has partnered with the American Community Gardening Association (ACGA) to help support gardens like these all across the country. For every order placed on MrsMeyers.com from now through June 5th, the brand will donate $5 to the ACGA towards a $10,000 donation. The ACGA is a non-profit organization of volunteers, professionals and member-organizations working in support of community greening in rural and urban areas across the United States. Its mission is to build communities by increasing and enhancing community gardening and greening across the United States and Canada. The Dolls are thrilled to be involved with this amazing initiative. You can learn more here.
So get outside and #PlantSomething today because #MrsMeyersInspires!
