In a land where sparkling dreams and golden hearts intertwined, a dazzling evening for a cause unfolded before everyone’s eyes. The occasion was none other than the Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend benefit gala — a night of glamour, friendship, and purpose. Under the soft glow of chandeliers and the clink of crystal glasses, guests arrived dressed to the nines, their laughter and excitement filling the air. But behind the shimmering curtain of the evening was a story of passion and dedication — a story about how a team of extraordinary women, bound by friendship and a shared mission, made magic happen.

As the managing chair of this year’s gala, I can honestly say that the journey to that enchanted evening was nothing short of a fairytale. When we settled on Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend as our theme, I knew it had to be a night filled with elegance, charm, and a nod to the glamour of Old Hollywood. But more than that, I wanted the evening to reflect the true sparkle behind the diamonds — the strength of female friendship and the power of coming together for a meaningful cause.

For 75 years, the Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club has been a pillar of community enrichment, empowering women, families, and local organizations. Our mission is to create a network of support for our members while leading impactful philanthropic and volunteer initiatives. In that time, we’ve raised over $5.1 million, funding scholarships and supporting local charities that focus on women and children throughout Chicagoland. These donations have helped build stronger communities, provide educational opportunities, and support vital services for those in need.

Planning an event like this is no small feat, but thankfully, I wasn’t alone. My dear Doll and co-chair, Christina Angelos, and I were surrounded by a team of incredible women — fellow Dolls — who brought their talent, creativity, and love to every detail. From selecting the perfect décor to coordinating the entertainment and curating a fabulous auction, we laughed, we problem-solved, and we supported each other every step of the way. Friendship truly was the diamond that made this night shine so brightly.

Of course, no gala is complete without the perfect wardrobe, and I knew my looks had to channel the essence of Old Hollywood glamour. I started the evening in a stunning Mac Duggal gown, featuring a dramatic bow that paid homage to Marilyn Monroe’s iconic look from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. To elevate the moment even more, I paired it with a piece of history — Z’s Grammy gloves from 1954. Wearing them felt like slipping into a piece of Hollywood’s golden age, as if Marilyn herself had whispered, You’re doing just fine, darling.

A huge thank you to Molly Grace Photography for helping us all step into the spotlight with these glamorous photos—she captured the essence of Old Hollywood perfectly!

Later in the evening, I transformed into my second look — another Mac Duggal masterpiece inspired by Marilyn’s legendary Happy Birthday, Mr. President moment. Draped in my grandmother’s champagne fur stole, I felt wrapped in both glamour and legacy. It was a quiet reminder that the most precious things in life aren’t jewels — they’re the stories and memories we carry with us.

To complement both looks, I wore a breathtaking natural diamond tennis necklace and pear-shaped diamond earrings from Merry Richards Jewelers — the perfect sparkle for a night dedicated to diamonds. Jimmy Choo heels and a classic Chanel purse completed the ensemble, adding that final touch of luxury.
And let’s not forget about the finishing touches! My hair and makeup were expertly styled by Tricoci, who brought my Old Hollywood vision to life. The soft waves and classic makeup added the perfect vintage glamour, making me feel like I had just stepped off a red carpet in the 1950s.

But amidst the glamour and glitter, the true highlight of the night wasn’t the diamonds — it was the magic of friendship. The room was alive with warmth, connection, and joy. We weren’t just raising funds for an important cause — we were celebrating the power of working together, of lifting each other up, and of knowing that life’s most precious jewels are the friends who stand by your side.
As the night drew to a close, and the final notes of music faded into the night, I knew that we had created something truly special. Not just an unforgettable event, but a legacy of friendship, strength, and sparkle that will live on long after the last champagne flute was emptied. Because in the end, diamonds may be a girl’s best friend — but true friendship is the most brilliant treasure of all.
