Caitlin and Dani have always cherished the peace and love in this world, but lately it seems like we could all use a little more. Life is sacred, and right now the Dolls are standing in alliance with the African American community. Black Lives Matter.

In our latest episode of the Doll Talk Podcast, we attempt to talk about difficult conversations – why they are important and how to have them. It is our prerogative to lead with love, compassion and understanding. Because silence is compliance, we want to open the door to new, difficult and even uncomfortable conversations. It is when we are uncomfortable that we – as a society – can grow the most.
We are honored to have our very first guest join us on the Podcast! We first met Quan Bailey 2 years ago working on Strength in the City – a traveling fitness festival. Quan was a lead trainer who also helped with production and we managed the Social Media through our sister company Dollhouse Social.
Quan is now a personal trainer in LA. As a back man, he is using his voice to positively impact this movement. Quan is an inspirational human being – he is open and strong and honest. Tune into Doll Talk to see where the conversation takes us.

Many of us have not had “difficult conversations” around race, because we may not consider ourselves racists by any means. However, now is the time to step up and become anti-racist. The first thing that we can do is proclaim ourselves as anti-racists and start to ask ourselves the above questions. It is time to awaken ourselves to white privilege and stand up for our African American friends and be part of this revolution.

Next up? Take action. It’s time to give yourselves the tools to learn how we can be allies to this community. This should be personal. Research the causes that speak to you and donate to those. For example, the local Chicago charity My Block My Hood My City spoke to us, so we donated. Find a charity that you want to donate to, or volunteer with.
Sign a petition for changes that you believe in. YOU are responsible for educating yourself right now. How will we raise the next generation? Throughout it all – we urge you to show compassion and kindness.
